HALFEN HFR Fibre Reinforcement
HALFEN HFR Glass Fibre Reinforced Polymer reinforcing bars are produced using a very specialised pultrusion process which produces a ribbed surface without machining. With approximately twice the tension capacity of regular reinforcement steel but only one third of its weight, HALFEN HFR bars are available in a very extensive range of diameters and reinforcement shapes, They are also corrosion resistant, and non-magnetic. These features mean that applications are extremely varied including high corrosion areas: situations where only minimal concrete cover is possible; soft eyes in tunnels; and areas in hospitals and other specialist structures that are to be utilized by equipment sensitive to electrical or magnetic fields.
Quality features are:
- high corrosion and chemical resistance:Appropriate for corrosive environments and as reinforcement with reduced concrete cover. Typical applications include industrial, transportation and utility structures.
- easily cut: Typical application include soft eyes in tunnel construction and temporaty concrete structures that will be later removed
- electrically inert and non-magnetic: Typical applications include areas where calibration is necessary in the vicinity of high-voltage equipment or sensitive instruments; areas near sensors for traffic signals; and explosive environments
- high tensile strength: useful in all types of concrete constuction, but particularly suitable where high loads and reduced reinforcement diameters are required.
- Sealed and ribbed bar surface.: provides excellent concrete bond and a fully sealed bar. Absence of surface machining ensures surface fibres remain fully load bearing and chemically protected by resin
